Karyn's Philosophy

Hello and welcome.

My philosophy centers around a respect for the innate wisdom that I believe we all carry inside of us. Some people refer to this as "following one's gut." Others refer to it as "inner guidance" or "higher self." And I'm sure there are many other terms as well.

Regardless of the term for this phenomenon, I operate from the premise that each person is the best authority on his or her own life. And as a coach, I feel that my role is to assist people in gaining a deeper understanding of what works for them and in making choices that further connect who they are on the inside with their day-to-day realities.  I started Forward Visions to help people create and execute personalized, forward thinking visions for business and life.

There is a wealth of information available regarding human development as it applies to life in general and as it applies to the business world. I have been studying this field for well over a decade and have a repertoire of various models I utilize in the coaching process. In addition, I have been a litigation attorney for many years and have found that legal skills, such as strategy and communication, make a difference for my coaching clients as well.

Coaching is a collaborative process that occurs through structured meetings and exercises either in person or via telephone. We create an environment that allows for fluid and frank discussions, and I ask provocative questions that get you thinking, brainstorming, creating, imagining, and planning. I listen in a trained way that allows me to see things from your perspective, not from mine. And by fully seeing your perspective, I am able to offer suggestions that go directly to the heart of the matter and make a substantial difference in helping you achieve what you want.
